I’m thankful for the many new writers, zines, and presses I’ve discovered recently as new editor of Revolution John. I’m grateful these folks decided to take a chance on submitting to us, and wow, these pieces are all winners. I mean, the sole guiding instinct here for choosing work is “Does it get under my skin?” I’m cranky and picky, but get under my skin with a story or poem, I melt. Cheers, and we’ll have more in the new year with help from Kaylee J. Nelson, one of our SMSU creative writing students. More on that New Year’s Day.
If you’re interested in reading some of my free work, I keep a list going over at my Linktree. Subscribe to it and get the new stuff as it’s posted.
The turkey breast is cooking (yes, the breast only), my cornbread stuffing, modified from Mom’s recipe is in the oven. My wife’s Stove Top is waiting its turn because she doesn’t like my cornbread stuffing. She baked an apple pie. The potatoes are on the stove and will eventually be mashed. I haven’t tapped into my eight dollar bottle of 9 Crimes yet but soon will, followed by Luccio Moscato, followed by hot apple cider with rum. What a feast.
Enjoy your meals, everyone. And sharpen your weapons for tomorrow’s Black Friday melees.
