Got some new stuff for you today. Exciting!
First up, the story “We Are All Kev” has been published in Black Sheep issue 6. A beautiful mag, don’t you think? It’s one of several excellent genre zines edited by Wayne Kyle Spitzer, a writer whose works spans the sci-fi and horror genres. This story is one of the “Canterbury Tales” - three stories I wrote while visiting Canterbury, England in early ‘22 (the others were “W_RD_E” and “Three Crows Tattoo Parlor”). Something about that city just worked for my imagination. “Kev” was inspired by the insane number of food delivery guys zooming around the ancient streets of the old town.
Next up is a real crazy one. The Gorko Gazette is one of the coolest, oddest zines I’ve come across, edited by the brilliant Colin Gee (check out The Penult). When I saw his call for Amelia Earhart-inspired “exploitation” work, I had to give it a go. And my piece, “Lady Icarus, Nazi,” made it in! Very fun, wild, provocative pieces in this, and I’m glad to be a small part of it.
And that’s not all.
Still waiting for my story “Strays” to be posted as part of The Muleskinner Journal’s “Glitches” issue (no. 9), a more personal story (quieter, even) than what you’re probably used to from me. Look for it soon.
In February, look for Sundown from Cowboy Jamboree and Leftover Books, an anthology inspired by the late great Gordon Lightfoot. Of course, my idea of tribute is to ruthlessly mock, so…yeah.
Comments are working.
